How to cut through a tractogram in volume rendering view?

Hello MRtrix experts,

Is there a way to cut through a tractogram (e.g., to cut through corpus callosum to only show the tracts in the left hemisphere) in the “Tractography” tool? I tried playing with “crop to slab”, but did not observe any effect.

Thanks much,
xiaoping

I’m afraid this can’t be done at the moment… The idea has popped into my mind on occasion, and it’s not theoretically difficult to implement, but I’d need to figure out a sensible means of interacting with it, and a lot more time than I typically have these days…

But it would definitely be worth adding a feature request as an issue in the GitHub issue tracker!

While it can’t be done within mrview interactively, you could pre-generate data for such a cropping operation: draw a ROI that encapsulates one of the two hemispheres only, and then use -tckedit with the -mask option. This will remove any streamline vertices that are not within the hemisphere of interest, which can then subsequently be loaded in the mrview Tractography tool.
