Dear MRtrix experts,
For my masters thesis I am currently working on an anatomically constrained tractography of single shell data.
For building the connectome and interpreting the fiber density I used
1.) the inter-subject FOD response function in SS3T_CSD and
2.) multiplied the connectome matrix with SIFT2 output “µ”,
as recommended by Smith and colleagues (2022, " Quantitative streamlines tractography: methods and inter-subject normalisation").
I am now wondering wether I can use the term “normalised” for the resulting FD since the sum of the connectomes FD > 1. I was expecting the sum of the whole connectome = 1, while all ROI-ROI connections would be between 0 and 1. The authors of the paper are using the term of “inter-subject connection density normalisation”.
I would highly appreciate your comments, thoughts or explanations. Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Ole
