FA multi-level analysis?

Hi there,

I have computed the mean FA value per streamline (using tcksample and -stat_tck) from a subset of my original connectome .tck file. This computes the mean FA value per streamline between two ROIs (indicated by parcellation mask files).

I have seen papers collapse across the vector which comes out of tcksample and take the mean of the mean FA values. This provides one value per subject which can then be used in hypothesis testing, etc.

My question is, are there any examples or advice people have for using the entire vector per person and using that in hypothesis testing? Perhaps in multi-level models, etc.

Has this been done before? Could this be a potentially more sensitive analysis, or is this likely just a lot of noise?

Thanks for the excellent community forum!
Ben
