Postdoc Position in Neuroimaging at Michigan State University

The Knickmeyer lab at Michigan State University is seeking a qualified full-time postdoctoral Research Associate with experience analyzing neuroimaging data. The Research Associate will have primary responsibility for analyzing structural, DTI, and resting state data collected for an R01 grant recently awarded to Dr. Knickmeyer by the NICHD. The goal of this grant is to determine whether prenatal maternal stress and gestational exposure to certain environmental chemicals influences cognitive development and neuroimaging phenotypes via altered inflammatory profiles and patterns of gut microbiome development. The proposed study will capitalize on an existing, probability-based statewide pregnancy cohort that will eventually include 1,100 women and their offspring. We will recruit 300 children into this ancillary study, adding longitudinal fecal sampling and neurocognitive testing and neuroimaging at 4 years of age. This individual will also have the opportunity to participate in research conducted by the Organization for Imaging Genomics in Infancy, a global consortium of researchers studying how genetic and environmental factors influence the development of brain morphometry, anatomical and functional connectivity, and cognitive and emotional function from birth to age 6.
